Mark W. Beard

Mark W. Beard, 64, of Granger, passed away peacefully at his home on April 14, 2023, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Mark was born in Des Moines on May 6, 1958, to Frank and Teddy Beard. He graduated from Southeast Polk High School and spent the majority of his career as president of Mark Corporation, dba Finishbinders. During his free time, Mark enjoyed woodworking, fishing, biking, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
Mark is survived by his wife, Lorraine Beard; former wife, Lisa Ness and their son, Frank (Samantha) Beard; stepson, Nick (Abby) Shoeman and two grandchildren; mother, Teddy Beard; four sisters, Linda (Doug) Righi, Joan Beard (Greg Overton), Pam (Dale) Nielsen, and Marsha (Gary) Mills; and one brother, John Beard.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Beard, and sister, Mary Grace Beard.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2023 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be directed to Tunnel to Towers Foundation or MercyOne Des Moines Hospice Care.

Spent many years traveling different parts of our country with Mark and other friends in the bindery business.
