April 13, 2023
Samuel Joseph DeAngelo, Jr., 47, passed away on April 13, 2023. He was born October 24, 1975, in Des Moines to Sam and Bea.
Sam graduated from East High School and attended DMACC, where he received his CAD Drafting Associate Degree. He worked the majority of his career for Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #33. In 2021, Sam began working at Dunkin’ Donuts where he quickly worked his way to General Manager. He was extremely meticulous about his store and dedicated his life to making sure it was always running at it’s best.
Sam had a great sense of humor, quick witted and could always make you laugh. Growing up he enjoyed baseball and football. Sam loved fishing with his grandpa, trap shooting and spending time at his grandpa’s farm. He also had a love for motorcycles and art. One of his greatest joys was his daughter Lily. Together they enjoyed going out for tacos, coloring and drawing, and going to the park on nice days. During the winter they visited Chuck E. Cheese a few times.
Sam is survived by daughters, Mia, Thea, and Lily; parents Sam (Kathy) DeAngelo; step-father, Ron Rouse; siblings; Kim (Jason) Kono, and Mario (Diane) DeAngelo; step-grandmother, Rosemary Dornbier; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and loving family members; and significant other, Stephanie Barker. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bea Heller; grandparents; William (Roe) and Lovie Ridner; Samuel (Theo) DeAngelo; step-grandmother, Florence DeAngelo; step grandfather, Dale Dornbier.
Memorial visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, in Des Moines.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be designated for his daughter Lily’s future.
