Timothy Gridley

Timothy Wallace Gridley, 60, passed away from complications of a heart attack on Monday, April 3, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born October 18, 1962 to Robert and Lois Gridley in Des Moines.

Tim started his career at The Graham Group where he so proudly went to night school to earn his BOMI diploma as a Systems Maintenance Administrator. He has worked the last twenty years at The Plaza Condominiums as their Building Maintenance Engineer. Tim was looking forward to his retirement and had purchased a farm in northeast Iowa. It was his dream to grow and distribute food to schools and other programs for those who were food insecure.

Tim loved to play his guitar and his weekly Wednesday night jam sessions with his brother and nephew. They would lay down tracks of the songs they wrote and recorded. Tim was a loving and kind husband and father and will be missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Tim is survived by wife of 35 years, Tammy Gridley ; his only daughter, Jessica Gridley; brother, Bobby Gridley; nephew, Joshua Gridley; nieces, Charity Thilges and Heather Erickson; brother-in-law, Mark Kinne; sister-in-law, Julie Kinne; and host of other family and beloved friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lois Gridley.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines.

Memorial contributions may be made in Tim’s honor to his family and will be distributed according to his wishes.
