Isaiah James Yoder
April 08, 2023
Isaiah James Yoder (24) passed away Saturday, April 8th 2023, of unexplained causes while out for a run. He was born November 12, 1998 in Clinton, Iowa to Benjamin and Deborah Yoder. He was the twelfth of their thirteen children. Isaiah began wrestling at the age of 5 and it became a passion of his that would continue throughout high school; it was a sport that taught him both discipline and perseverance. He graduated high school in 2017 and then attended Iowa State University. Isaiah had a love for his country and was currently serving in the Iowa Army National Guard since 2017 as an 11B Infantryman; he was a Sergeant and member of 1st Platoon, Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 168th Infantry. Isaiah was engaged to Emily Conard in 2019 and the two were married on June 22, 2020.
Isaiah worked at Fareway Meat Market while studying for his mortgage lending license. Isaiah then began working for Journey Mortgage alongside his brother,Sam, in April 2022. In addition to lending, he recently passed his Insurance exams, and started work with his other brother, Abe, at SP&P Insurance, as well. Isaiah valued his faith above anything else and demonstrated that through membership at Providence Reformed Church in Des Moines, along with his wife. It was of highest priority for Isaiah to honor God with his life and care for Emily in every way possible. He took pleasure in the responsibility of being the spiritual leader of his home and being a loving husband to his bride. Isaiah enjoyed spending quality time with Emily and their two dogs, Chester and Favor. He had a love for dogs, running, working out, guns, watches, golf, and all things outdoors. Isaiah loved learning about firearms and going to the range with his brothers to shoot his own guns. He was an honorable, genuine, tender-hearted man who will be terribly missed by so many people.
He was preceded in death by his youngest brother (Joshua), his father-in-law (Dan Conard), and all of his grandparents.
He is survived by: his wife, Emily Yoder, his mother-in-law (Lisa Conard), two sister-in-laws (Tori Patton & Rebekah Conard), his parents, Benjamin & Deborah Yoder, eleven of his siblings and their spouses: Sarah (Jeff), Anna (Noah), Esther, Samuel (Ashley), Lydia (Sam), Joe (Tara), Mary (Nick), Martha (Gabe), Rachel (Paul), Tabitha (Micah), Abraham (Ashley), and 34 nieces and nephews (including 1 great nephew).

Dear Yoder Family. I am heart broken to hear of your loss. I had the pleasure of getting to know your 4 youngest, including Isaiah, in my math classes at Greene County High School. Isaiah was a smart young man of great character and talent. I an so sad to hear of his tragic and unexpected passing far to early. I know how much faith and family mean to all of you and am sure it is of great comfort to you having the assurance that Isaiah is with his Lord and Savior in Heaven. Please accept my heartfelt condolences and know that your family will be in my prayers. May Gods love and peace give you the strength to get through this. God bless you all. - Patty Fisher
