Monty Carver, 53, passed away on April 5, 2023. He had Kawasaki heart disease and passed from a heart attack while waiting for a heart transplant at Unity Point Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. He was born in Atlantic, IA on March 24, 1970 the son of Richard and Pamela (Sunderman) Carver.

Monty loved his children and cherished the time spent together, whether it was helping with building models, Legos or watching Star War’s. Monty was a 2008 graduate of DMACC with an AA in robotics. He was active duty in the US Marine Corps.

Monty is survived by his wife, Rochelle; children, Tyler (Kristin) Mitchell, Logan and Emilee; grandson, Oliver; parents, Richard and Pamela; siblings, Eric (Sonja), Kenneth, and Monica (Jeff) Balk; grandfather, Arlo Sunderman; parents-in-law, Bruce and Anna Cameron; brother and sister-in-law, Kelly (Jennifer) Cameron; grandparents-in-law, Tarquin and Francis Cameron along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of loving friends. Family was everything to Monty. He was a friend to everyone he met and mentor to several people, one of which was
Emilee’s friend Ava G.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Roseanna Sunderman and grandparents, Dean and Margurite Carver.

Services will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 12:00 p.m., at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave. Family will greet friends on Monday, April 10, 2023 from 6:00 -8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
