Douglas H. Weihs

Douglas Harold Weihs, 66, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.

Doug was born December 14, 1956, in Atlantic, Iowa to Harold and Letha Weihs. He grew up in the Atlantic/Marne, Iowa area. He loved the outdoors and cat fishing. He liked animals and spoiled the many, many wild cats that lived around his home. Doug enjoyed camping trips with his family to Red River in North Dakota. He has been employed with Herberger Construction Company Inc. in Indianola for the last 30 years.

Doug is survived by his children, Mandy Weihs (Dusty Clark), Cynthia Youngblut (Josh), Shawn Weihs, and Emily Weihs; step-children, Connie Grinstead (Eric), Chris Cox, Joel Hudson (Jess), and Ryan Hudson; several grandchildren; siblings, Suzie Weihs (Sara), John Weihs, and Dennis Weihs; former spouse, Patti Weihs; a host of other extended family and friends; and his favorite four-legged companion, Dexter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Letha Weihs; and his brothers, Danny, Jeff, and Joe Weihs.

Cremation will occur and there will be a celebration of life in Manson at his home at a later date.
