Audley “Scott” Conrath, 57, passed away on March 31, 2023, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.
Scott was born September 4, 1965, in Des Moines to Audley and Sharon (Hardenbrook) Conrath.
He loved cooking and especially enjoyed preparing Sunday meals and homemade salsa for his family. He enjoyed hunting, farming, Vegas, and Nascar. He knew everything there was to know about a vehicle. He truly was a man’s man.
Scott is survived by his wife of 35 years, Kay Conrath; children, Nicole (Carter) Conrath; A.J. Conrath; grandchildren, Lailyn Conrath; father, Audley Conrath; and siblings, Debbie VanPatten and Elaine Zirkle.
He was preceded in death by his mom, Sharon Conrath.
The family will greet friends on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, also at the funeral home. Scott will be laid to rest at Glendale Cemetery.

Kay, I was just stunned and saddened when I went out to visit my hubby at Glendale today. I cried for you when I saw his picture and name. Your Scott is close to where my Dan is. I'm wrapping my arms around you and your family. Love and hugs, Carleen

I am incredibly saddened to hear of this tremendous loss. I have no words other than to thank Scott from the bottom of my heart for being like a dad I never had growing up. You all took me in as basically a third child. You were my second family growing up and I couldn't be more grateful to you all for loving me like one of your own. I will always cherish the memories I had with you all and your wonderful extended family. I love you guys and I think of you often. My biggest condolences

I was scared out of my mind when we climed the hill in your 4x4 in a place Im sure we werent suppose to be. And thank you for showing me the effects of dry ice in a 2 liter bottle with a little 7-up. I am so sorry for your loss Kay!!
