Mary K. Jackovich

Mary K. Jackovich, 89, died on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, in Omaha, Nebraska. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Wednesday, November 25th at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with burial following at Glendale Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home. A Vigil service will take place at 7 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.

A life-long resident of Des Moines, Iowa, she spent the last year in Omaha, Nebraska, in order to be near her daughter and family. She was born in 1920 to Anthony and Tafilia Miller, who operated Miller Grocery on Southeast 14th Street.

Mary was a graduate of East High School in Des Moines. She married Victor Jackovich in 1946 and for many years worked in Des Moines as a tax auditor for the Internal Revenue Service.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Victor, and her three sisters, Zelda Davitt, Tillie Ronning and Veronica Reel.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet Clark and son-in-law, Samuel Clark, of Omaha, Nebraska, and, by her son, Victor Jackovich, Jr. and daughter-in-law Deborah Jones, of Washington, D.C. and her grandchildren: Jacob Jackovich and Anne, Mary and Samuel Clark, Jr.
