Tony Breese, Jr.
March 25, 2023
Tony Breese was born in Des Moines, Iowa in 1965 to Tony Breese Sr and Vickie Breese. Tony enjoyed spending time with his two brothers Robert and Tom Breese. They were always together and very close.
Tony was a devoted husband to his wife April of over 34 years. He has two wonderful children, a son Anthony and daughter Alexandra 'Alex’ who love him and will miss him very much. His wife and children have fond and happy memories that will never be forgotten and will always love him and the person that he was.
Tony loved God, his family, nature, fishing, traveling, being outdoors and having fun with his family. He enjoyed watching his favorite football team the Kansas City Chiefs with his family and friends. He was also a big Chicago Cubs baseball fan.
He started Tae Kwon Do in 1975. He loved Tae Kwon Do. He later became an instructor and taught Tae Kwon Do before starting Breese Family Tae Kwon Do with his Father Tony Breese Sr, Vicky his mother and two brothers Robert and Tom Breese in 1986. In 1998 Tony fully owned and operated Breese Family Tae Kwon Do up until his death last Saturday March 25th.
For over 45 years Tony taught the Des Moines community. He touched many lives and changed many lives for the better. He was a role model and mentor to many in his years and touched many lives. He was a patient teacher who taught his students values of discipline, respect, confidence, and integrity. He loved teaching people how to reach their full potential and believed in people even when they could not believe in themselves. He was beloved by his students and will be missed very much.
Tony will be missed by many but leaves wonderful memories with all of us.

My condolences to the Breese family, Tony was an amazing man. He always saw potential in others, especially the younger generations. He taught me to have more confidence and dicipline in everything I do. For Tony there was never a stranger, he would drop everything just to help others. He will be deeply missed. May God bless and turn his face towards the Breese family as they go through this trying time. Our love to you all!

My deepest sympathy to April and your family. I came to know Tony from taking my grandson Anthony Munoz to many of his Tae Kwon Do classes. He started when he was six and worked his way up to a black belt. During his spring break from college he went to one of Tony's classes. I appreciated his patience and kindness with his students and his encouragement for Anthony as he pursued his love of the cello. He will be greatly missed.

What a shock it was to hear of Tony's passing. He was an important part of my life and my kids lives for many years. I know there are many, many young people in the Des Moines area who benefited from knowing and being taught by him. Sending love and hugs to the whole Breese family from my winter home in Texas. Wishing you all healing and peace in the coming days.

What an incredible loss. April, Alex, and Anthony, my heart breaks for you all. Tony was such an incredible mentor to all of his Tae Kwon Do students young and old. He taught my boys, Camden and Carson, so much more than just Tae Kwon Do. I will be forever grateful for having known him and the impact he had on my life and the life of my boys. God speed Tony 🙏🏻

I am so so very sad to hear of Tony's passing. Three of my grandchildren received their blackbelts from him. He was always extremely patient & kind. He didn't call out mistakes but quietly told the child/student the correct way. He was funny & the kids loved him which made his subtle little comments about him loving & respecting his parents, introducing his "beautiful wife, April" every time she happened to be there, & to watch out for cars when Trick or Treating, less like nagging to kids. I'm sure he has had a positive effect on many, many people. His family is in my family line & because of him, his immediate family, his parents, etc, I have been proud to have shared an ancestor with them.
