Marcia Lynn Burow

Marcia Lynn Burow, 66 passed away on March 27, 2023. She was born December 1, 1956, in Des Moines, Iowa to Hal Higgs and Trudie Van Ginkel Higgs. Marcie graduated from Valley High School and then attended Drake University.

Marcie married Kim Burow, the love of her life, on May 6, 1978, and they have three children, Courtney, Allison, and Brandon. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter.
Her life was her family. She kept in touch with her children, mother, and sisters nearly every day. She also loved music, traveling, being outside in the sun, and treasured many lifelong friends.

Marcie is survived by her husband; Kim; daughters, Courtney Sandmeier and Allison Burow (Bill Frost); son, Brandon (Leigh) Higgs-Burow; four grandchildren, Andrew Burow, Grace Sandmeier, Jackson Sandmeier and Link Higgs-Burow; sisters, Julie Triplett (Charlie) and Kathie Sankey (Mike); mother, Trudie Higgs; nieces and nephews; cousins and treasured friends. She was preceded in death by her father Hal Higgs, and son-in-law, Chris Sandmeier.

Funeral services will be held at Plymouth Congregational Church, 4126 Ingersoll Avenue, Des Moines on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation on Monday, April 3, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines.
