Annie Ryba

Annie June Ryba, 97, passed away on March 18, 2023 after a brief illness.

She was born December 5, 1925 to Anna Cynkus and Alex Romanchuk in Sioux City, Iowa. Annie graduated from Central High School in Sioux City and went on to earn her RN in Yonkers, New York. She worked and volunteered in the medical field until retirement. Annie and Frank retired to Anacoco, La., where they lived for over 40 years.

She was a gifted seamstress and quilter. She spent countless hours in her flower gardens. Tending her flowers, especially her roses. Her flowers brought her so much joy.

Annie is survived by her children, Leon (Becky) Stidfole, Christine Winkelman, and Barry (Kathy) Stidfole; grandchildren, Jaimie (Josh) Abrahamson, Jayson (Holly) Winkelman, Melissa (Jesus) Pena, Jessica (Jared) Harridge, Aaron Stidfole, Amanda (Bobby) Worden; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husbands, Max A Stidfole and Frank J. Ryba; her parents, Anna Cynkus and Alex Romanchuk; son-in-law, Rod Winkelman; grandson, Brett L. Stidfole; her sibilings, Sophie Stultz, Mary Shumansky, Helen Coombs, Bill Romanchuk, and Jennie DeWolf.

Per Annie’s wishes she will be buried in Anacoco, Louisiana and services will be held at a later date.
