Diane Simons

Diane Elizabeth Simons, age 74, passed away Monday, March 20, 2023 at her home in Des Moines.

Diane was born September 8, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa to Charles and Joyce (Jervis) Jackson. She graduated from North High School in Des Moines. She worked as a Nurses’ Aide after high school at Broadlawn’s Medical Center. Diane later went to work as one of the first Home Health Aides for Hospice of Central Iowa.

Diane married Terry Simons, who owned his own concrete business. She was active in Camp Fire Heart of Iowa for over 40 years. Diane was an animal lover and an avid reader. She loved her TV shows and chatting with family and friends on the phone about them.

She is survived by her daughters, Beth Simons (husband, Larry Porter) of Des Moines and Heather Simons of West Des Moines; siblings, Steven Jackson and Carol Mann both of Arizona; nieces, Anessa and Kelly; two great-nieces; and a host of lifelong friends and her 48th Street Neighborhood Gang.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Joyce Jackson; husband, Terry Simons; and her nephew, Michael Jackson.

Cremation will occur and there will be no services held at this time. A celebration of life may be held at a later date.
