Kelly Ann Jones
March 13, 2023
Kelly Ann Jones, age 58, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 13, 2023. She was born the daughter of Larrey and Carolyn Plumb on March 22, 1964 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Kelly attended Southeast Polk, after high school she was a waitress at the Iowa Beef Steak House and worked various jobs in the food service industry. Kelly was united in marriage to Mark Jones on February 14, 1993 at Highland Park Lutheran Church in Des Moines. She was primarily a homemaker. Her family was her first priority and she took great pride in providing them a loving home. She had a big heart and would help anyone in a time of need, whether it be running them to appointments, cleaning, cooking or anything at all, she was always there for you.
Kelly had strong faith, a deep personal relationship with God, and was a member of Sunshine Open Bible Church. Many happy memories were made cooking, canning, crafting, going to craft fairs, and taking vacations to the beach. Above all else, Kelly loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was her grandchildren’s biggest cheerleader and supported them in all of their activities. Her passing has left a deep hole in all of our hearts, and she will be dearly missed.
She is lovingly survived by her husband Mark Jones, children Maranda (Chad) Reeves, Kasey (Ethan) Kouri, Amanda (Jake) Monaghan, and Stephanie Jones, ten grandchildren, two sisters June (Lee) Evans and Malinda Plumb, and a host of extended family members and friends.
Kelly was preceded in death by her parents, and beloved dog Jake.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, March 20, 2023 at Sunshine Open Bible Church, 3100 Easton Boulevard, Des Moines with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
