Carla Sue Treanor
March 13, 2023
Carla Sue Treanor, 63, unexpectedly passed away on March 13, 2023, at Unity Point Health West Des Moines Methodist Hospital.
Carla was born March 3, 1960, in Portland, Oregon to Carl and Shirley (Eginoire) Jorgensen. She just celebrated her 20-year anniversary at Wells Fargo, and she had plans to retire in 2023.
If you knew Carla, she was probably there for you during a difficult time in your life. She took so many people under her wing. A lot of us refer to her as “Momma Carla” and “Aunt Carla” even those who were not related to her. She would always be the first one to cheer you up on your bad days and gave the best advice. She would even be the first one to wish you a happy birthday. She was a wonderful mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend to many. She loved everyone, and everyone truly loved her.
Her favorite things included girls shopping trips, cooking her famous Italian recipes, going to wineries, listening to live bands, visiting the ocean in Florida when she could, and taking care of her 2 fur babies, dog Hugo, and cat Lily. But what she loved most of all was spending quality time with her kids, granddaughter, and her family. She was at her happiest being around family during every holiday and special occasion.
Carla is survived by her children, Ryan Jorgensen and Kinzie (Ty) Leinen; granddaughter, Olivia Jorgensen; siblings, Jeri McFarland, Rick (Tina) Jorgensen, and Kim (Curtis Highland) Kouri; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Carla.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023, also at the funeral home. Carla will be laid to rest at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Carla and I became fast friends in 7th grade. I remember she and I playing in many Foosball tournaments together and winning against the guys. She was the sweetest most kind and generous person Ive ever met. The last time I saw her I was in DSM visiting family and we met for dinner. We were looking forward to going to our 45th high school reunion together this summer. I will miss her terribly but I know that she is with her mom and dad smiling and keeping watch on her family and friends. Fly high my sweet friend. I love you! Your Texas Friend, Kimmy

I met Carla 20 years ago when I first started at WF. Through those years there was a select group that went from co-workers to like family. I was lucky enough to have Carla in mine. We have been through everyone's ups and downs. The best support anyone could ask for. She was my Carlita. I can still her saying Kathleen. Or Robert for that matter :). Please know she will be truly missed. She looked after us like her own. We all felt like we knew Ryan and Kenzie with how she talked about them with such a Mother's pride. Oh and then she became a Grammy, it was awesome to see the glow she had. Carla helped me get through a lot over those years she will always have a special place in my heart. I am so very sorry for your loss and will continue to keep everyone in my thoughts and prayers.
