Robert Bob "Hoot" Gibson

Robert Bob “Hoot” Gibson, 73, passed away on March 10, 2023, at Prairie Hills (Addington Place) of Des Moines.

Bob was born on August 31, 1949, in Des Moines the son of James and Lorene (Nelson) Gibson. He worked for UPS in vehicle maintenance for 30 years and for DMPS for 10 years. He married Judy Lantz on October 7, 1978, in Des Moines.

Bob is survived by his wife, Judy Gibson; children, Doug (Laura) Faubus and Sarah (Chad) Johnson; grandchildren, Gabriel, Sophia, and Daphne Johnson; sister, Mary Ellen (Rick) Baker; and numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Church, 4200 E 25th Street. Bob will be laid to rest at Resthaven Cemetery.
