Dennis R. Lindsay, 66, passed away Monday, November 16, 2009 at his home in Des Moines.
Dennis was born July 25, 1943. After leaving Des Moines he met and married Dottie "Dorothy" Lindsay and had one son Sean and lived in Glenview, Illinois, until moving back to Des Moines in 1992.
Dennis graduated from North High in 1961 and got his college degrees from Oakton Community College and Roosevelt University in Chicago.
He was first in district and second in state three years running for swimming free style at North High. Dennis enjoyed reading old westerns, traveling, hunting and fishing and was an avid collector. His favorite football team was the Chicago Bears and had always hoped to see the Chicago Cubs win a world series.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents Mildred and Joe Lindsay. He is survived by his son Sean (Sherries) Lindsay; grandson, Shane; sister Saundra (Mike) Cremeens; brother Roy Joseph Jr.; uncle to Natalie, Michael, RJ & Kelly and great-uncle to many.
He leaves behind a loving family and many friends.
A family service was held on Friday November 20, 2009. Memorial

To all of the Family Members, Friends, and North High School Classmates of Dennis Lindsay.
My Wife (Beverly) and I are sad to hear of the death of Dennis Lindsay, we Pray Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will strengthen ALL of you with His Mighty Love, Grace, and Mercy. We Pray, all of You as well as my family will see one another in the Heavens some day, which is the most wonderful reward of them all; just the thought "what a wonderful reunion that will be".
I graduated with Dennis, I did not have the Swimming abilities, but he was such a good athlete and a good fellow classmate. Almost immediately after graduation, I joined the United States Air Force, and retired after serving twenty-One Years and four months. I have good memories of Dennis, and I believe he will always be missed in your lives.
