Thomas Lendt
March 09, 2023
Thomas Lendt passed on Thursday, March 9th at the age of 61 after a long battle with cancer. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, David and Alice Lendt, and was survived by his wife, Traci Lendt, and his sisters Stephanie Lendt and Sally (Dan) Anderson.
For many years, Tom served as the shop teacher for the Saydel High School district where he formed life-long friendships with both students and faculty. After he retired from teaching, he became a valet for Methodist hospital, enjoying the combination of parking cars and greeting people as they entered the facility. Later on in life, Tom started a new job transporting medication to area pharmacies.
Tom enjoyed annual vacation trips to the Florida Keys with his wife and when not on the beach with a drink in his hand, he could be found out in his garage fixing up old machinery and restoring ancient equipment to life. Tom adored his family and friends and could always be counted on to share a story from his life, even with people who were strangers just moments before.
Tom was cremated and a celebration of life for friends and family will be arranged for a later date.

I had Mr. Lendt as a teacher in school; not as a shop teacher but as a study hall teacher. He was so funny and laid back. He was one I remembered well. Sorry to hear about this.

Tom was an integral part of the Bel Air Drive/Fellows 'hood. 4-H, Indian Guides and so much more. Who can forget Tom's Ms. Gustafson's music class premier of "Trees"? Even today, it brings a smile :-) . It was a tough neighborhood, and Tom always elicited a smile.

Having known Tom from K-12 but rarely seeing him after that I'm really saddened hearing about him. I will forever remember him being the first person to greet me at a highschool reunion years later with his genuine smile and humor. He is missed.

I remember Tom from high school and while we never traveled in the same circle I do recall every time I saw him he had a glorious smile on his face. Smiles and laughter are what I remember of Tom. My condolences and prayers for his family and friends who loved him. May God bring you all peace and comfort.

I knew Tom from kindergarten through high school. We reconnected a little later in life but not enough. I have many good memories of him. The world is a smaller place without him. Rest in peace.

Traci....I know I've told in so many ways how sorry I am....but truly I am. I just wish there was a way to come up with words that would take your heart pain away. My hope is that you feel the love...go through the grief and know that this too will lighten...never to be erased..that is the thing about love....with the joys..you must also feel the grief. I love you so much.....kristy
