Mary Neva (Gallardo) Kramer, 80, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Mary was born June 2, 1942 to Ramon and Gregoria (Barcena) Gallardo in West Des Moines, Iowa. A lifelong resident of West Des Moines, she was one of 11 siblings. Mary married Gary Kramer and they were married for 43 years.
Mary enjoyed bowling, crocheting, planting her flower garden and Prairie Meadows. She was active in her church and served many funeral luncheons. Mary also enjoyed sports, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes. Mary and Gary made many trips to watch the Hawks play at historic Kinnick Stadium. She also enjoyed the many family get-togethers over the years.
Mary was a beautician at Younkers and also worked for Meredith Publishing Company and the Iowa Department of Revenue.
Mary is survived by her husband, Gerald “Gary” Kramer, West Des Moines, IA; sister, Catherine Martinez, West Des Moines, IA; Randy Kramer and Lanie Johnson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Josephine Ayala, Trina Salazar, Leno Gallardo, Ramona Rocha, Theresa Gallardo, Frank Gallardo, Fred Gallardo, Maria Elena Kingsley and John Gallardo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1627 Grand Avenue, West Des Moines, Iowa with visitation one-hour prior. Burial will take place at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, West Des Moines and online condolences expressed at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.

Mary was a special friend that I got to know better when I moved back to West Des Moines. She always greeted me with a smile. I will never forget that smile and her kind nature.

Several years ago we began a Monday night rosary at Sacred Heart.
Mary was one of the faithful who often came. Some nights there would only be 2 or 3 of us. Marys attendance was encouraging. The rosary group thrives now by the foundation of faith and example Mary set.
