Larry Dingle

Larry James Dingle, 76, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023 at his home in Des Moines.

Larry was born May 10, 1946, in Ottumwa, Iowa to Jack and Alice (Carnes) Dingle. He served in the United States Army, Special Forces, from April 1962 to June 1974, during the Vietnam War, traveling to Germany, Tokyo, Saigon, Bombay, and Bangkok. Once he completed his military service, he worked as a Private Investigator, retiring in 1994. He graduated from college with a four year degree and had worked towards his graduate degree.

He enjoyed going to flea markets, reading and traveling. Larry was a member of Disabled American Veterans and attended Lincoln Heights Lutheran Church. Larry liked to drive trucks and he and his wife enjoyed going out for dinner. He was a devoted and loyal husband and took very good care of his wife.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Donna Dingle.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Alice Dingle.

Burial with military honors will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Altoona Cemetery in Altoona, Iowa.
