Virginia “Ginny” Phipps, 77, passed away on March 2, 2023 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. She was born on October 2, 1945, to Robert and Vada Colony in Iowa City, Iowa.

Ginny graduated from Iowa City High in 1962. She loved NASCAR racing, country music, traveling, Elvis and all animals, especially her many pets through the years. Ginny was always full of life and had such a vibrant personality.

Ginny is survived by her husband of 11 years, Lance Phipps; daughter, Stephanie Gibb; grandson, Dylan Cardwell; special friends, Patty York and James Brown; her favorite furry four-legged friends, dog, Jedi and cats, Grace and Boots. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Vada (Cox) Colony; numerous aunts and uncles; and her dogs, Chunkers and Gypsy.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
