Alice (Barb) Paul

Alice Barbara Paul, age 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.

Barb was born January 28, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan to Hugh and Mildred (Clark) Martin.

She enjoyed movies, flower gardening, crocheting, reading, camping, bowling, horse racing, craft shows, the Iowa State Fair, and above all else, family gatherings.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Martha) Paul, Susan (Richard) Bohn, Russell (Rosanne) Paul, and Kelly Paul; grandchildren, Christie Paul, Brenda Carl, Justin Paul, Matthew Mason, Erin (Adam) Herman, Jerra (Mike) Fust, Russ Paul, Andrew Paul, Courtney Fetters, and Shelby Morris; great-grandchildren, Alexia, Aaron, Ashlye, Adisyn, Mathylda, Hank, Grace, Ella, Abby, Natalie, Everly Jo, and Waylon; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Barb was preceded in death by her husband, Merle Paul; parents, Hugh and Mildred Martin; brother, Walter Martin; and her sisters, Annie Baker and Cheryl Cheville.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., followed by funeral service at 6:00 p.m., Monday, March 6, 2023, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
