John Lynn Romine, Sr., age 67, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023.
John was born May 30, 1955, in Des Moines, Iowa. He attended Des Moines Technical High School. John enlisted in the U. S. Army on September 21, 1972, and served honorably until his discharge on September 19, 1975. He was a marksman and a hand grenade expert. After his military service, John earned his GED. He went on to further his schooling in carpentry and home building. He then worked for Firestone as a laborer for over 25 years.
John enjoyed fishing and working on cars. He loved watching westerns, especially Gunsmoke, and listening to country and rock music. He was a people person and was always making jokes. He liked going out for pancakes at the Pleasant Hill Diner. John enjoyed the outdoors and collected elephants.
He is survived by his son John Romine, Jr., daughter Jennifer (Brandon) Carre, grandchildren Brayden, Colton and Ashanti, brother Robert Romine, sister Cindy Romine, his companion dog Fred, and other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Carol (Rogers) Farris, sisters Patricia Wiggins and Leann Romine, and brother William “Billy” Romine.
John will be interred at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, 34024 Veterans Memorial Drive, Adel, Iowa on Friday, March 10, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. There will be a celebration of life following at American Legion Post 403, 910 Main Street, Van Meter, Iowa 50261.

John will be miss by family and friends. We all have our Memories with John and we will miss him alot. John was a good good friend we love you John. My prayer are with his family though this hard times we love you John rest in peace.
