Richard Anderson

Richard Anderson, age 76, passed away February 23, 2023. He was the son of Romaine and Helen Anderson and was born on August 19, 1946 in Jefferson, Iowa. He married Jane Christy on February 14, 1970. They had two children, daughter Kimberly and son Chad.
Richard attended Iowa State University and was a member of the National Guard.
He worked for Central Iowa Power Cooperative (CIPCO) for 43 Years, beginning in 1973 as a Project Electrical Engineer and retiring in 2016 as the Senior Vice-President of Operations.
Richard loved his annual walleye fishing trips and attending his grandson’s sporting events.
He is survived by his daughter, Kim Talley (Bob) of Shawnee, KS; son, Chad Anderson (Stacey) of Seattle, WA; grandsons, Max Talley of Seattle, WA, Logan Talley of Shawnee, KS, Chance Anderson of Seattle, WA, Cole Anderson of Seattle, WA; sisters, Jane Vargo (Alex) of Oregon, OH, Judy Forrest (Ron) of Harrisburg, SD, and Suzy Seidl (Dale) of Coon Raids, IA.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Jane in 1990. He never remarried.

Visitation will be on Monday, February 27, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, Iowa. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 7075 Ashworth Road, West Des Moines, Iowa. Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Jefferson, Iowa.

Richard was an amazing man. I met him at Edgewater and we became close. After I left we continued talking on phone and occasionally stop by I regret only seeing him once this last year he will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with all of his friends and family.
