Frank Reed, Sr., 93, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023.

Frank was born October 26, 1929, in Des Moines, Iowa to Hiram and Mollie Reed. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He loved his country and was proud to have served. He enjoyed shooting pool, bowling, gardening, and dancing on Saturday nights. Frank was kind, calm, and loving. His family never remembers him ever raising his voice or speaking a curse word. With a sixth grade education, he will remain in their minds the smartest man they ever knew. Frank installed and maintained elevators, raised a family, and was someone you could count on. He will be forever loved and missed every day, but the family takes comfort in knowing that he will have an eternity in Heaven. He was loved beyond measure.

He is survived by his children, Tina Knight and Frank Reed, Jr.; granddaughters, Crystal (Jeff) Clark and Carla (Allen) Clarke; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Dakota, Hailey, Mallory, David, Devin, and Ashley; great-great-grandchildren, Isabella and Kate; and a host of extended family and friends.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; grandsons, Gary Hittle and Michael Reed; and his siblings, Irene Peterson, Clifford Reed, and Eugene Reed.

Burial will take place at Iowa Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
