Lois Moberg
February 14, 2023
Lois May Moberg, aged 89, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2023, at her home in Des Moines, Iowa.
Lois was born December 20, 1933, in Des Moines, Iowa to Lee and Hazel (Haskins) Sample. She was one of eight children and was often known as the mother of the group, starting her life of service to others. She was married to Jack Moberg on August 20, 1950, and served as his partner for the next 70 years. She was the love of his life, and him hers. While Jack served in the Korean War from 1950-1952, Lois worked for a local leather company and saved all of her income so they could buy a car and a home when he returned. She went on to help her husband as owner and manager of many rental properties in the area while raising their family.
Lois devoted her entire life to God and first attended Bethel Tabernacle, which today is known as Experience Church in Des Moines. She loved to praise God through music and sang in the praise group for many years as Jack played the piano at her side. She also taught children’s Sunday school classes and helped in the church daycare. Through Experience Church she helped to run their food pantry and clothing closet for those less fortunate and she was the caregiver to many strangers that she came across over the years. With a gracious, kind and giving heart, she helped them with anything they needed. Most importantly she helped to raise or babysit all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, eventually being given the title “Grandma-Great”. She was loving and gracious and made the best fudge in the world. Her love for God and her family was unmatched and she will be greatly missed by us all.
She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Stan Moberg (Rosalin Moberg) and Blake Moberg; her grandchildren, Stan Jr. (Heidi) Moberg, Amy (Kam) Collins, Sarah (Matt) Bennum, Sean (Mona) Cavanaugh, David Moberg, Danielle Moberg and Ashlee Black; great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Emma, Jack, Mia, Maddox, Olivia, Zain and Zaki; and a host of other extended family and friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Moberg; her son, David Moberg; her parents, Lee and Hazel Sample; and her siblings, Lee, Dick, Harold, Helen, Doris, Ivan and Ruby.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2023 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2023, also at Hamilton’s, and will conclude with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Experience Church in loving memory of Lois.

Blake and Stan --
Linda and I want to extend our condolences to you and your family. We are sad to hear of your mom's passing away but rejoice with you in the knowledge that she has been reunited with your dad and, most importantly, is now in the the presence of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
Then, too, is the joy in knowing that all of us who follow in Lois and Jack's footprints by accepting Jesus as our personal Savior will see them again when we, too, are promoted to Heaven.
We pray for strength and peace for you and your family during this time of sorrow.
