Mary Elisabeth "Beth" Miller

Mary Elisabeth “Beth” Isensee Miller, 78, of West Des Moines, passed away on February 13, 2023 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, due to complications from Covid-19.
Beth was born September 30, 1944 to Robert H. and Mary E. (Buell) Isensee, in Webster City.
A graduate of Mason City High School, the University of Iowa, and Drake University, Beth dedicated her career to helping professional educators, education administrators, and Iowa families as an occupational therapist at the Heartland Area Education Agency. In addition to being a lifelong promoter of education, Beth actively supported veteran’s organizations, agencies assisting retired greyhounds, and family planning organizations. At home, Beth loved reading, enjoyed caring for her cats and dogs, and spent many cold winters supporting her three sons in their amateur ice hockey leagues.
She is survived by her sister, Jane (Gary) Kahn of Newton; sons, Gregory (Charlotte) Miller of Des Moines, Joseph (Kellie) Miller of Waukee, and Alexander (Amanda) Miller of Nashville, TN; three grandchildren, Theodore, Wren, and Junia; nieces, Mollie and Megan; nephew, Robert; and numerous grand-dogs and grand-cats. She was preceded in death by her father and mother.

A celebration of life ceremony for Beth is planned for a beautiful late spring day in 2023, in Des Moines.

I will always remember Beth as being a very intelligent and caring person. She could really be a lot of fun. Beth used her many gifts wisely. There are a lot fur babies that had a much better life because of her. May she rest in peace.
