Jerry Sheeks

Jerry Lynn Sheeks, 75, passed away on February 11, 2023 in Ankeny. He was born in Des Moines, on August 23, 1947, son of Floyd and Ione (Haines) Sheeks.

Jerry was the Ground Manager at Highland Memory Gardens for 60 years. He enjoyed gardening, watching NASCAR and model trains. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family. Especially his grandchildren, watching his granddaughter dance and cheer and grandsons playing sports.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda; son, Robert (Tanya) and daughter, Tammy (Victor) Gamboa; grandchildren, Taylor (Alisyn) Sheeks, Trey Sheeks, Broc Gamboa and Autumn Gamboa; great grandson, Everett Sheeks; brother, Robert Sheeks. He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Tytan Sheeks; siblings, Kitty Bushbaum, Dixie Phillips, Fred Sheeks, Ed Sheeks and Morris Sheeks.

Services will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 12:00 p.m., at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. There will be a visitation on Thursday, February, 16, 2023 from 5:00 -7:00 pm, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens, Des Moines.
