Kathleen Ann Leydens, 69, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023.
Kathleen was born August 15, 1953, in Fergus Falls, MN to Elmer and Dorothy Brewer. She attended high school in Fairbanks, AK. Kathleen was married on November 12, 1972 to her first husband in Des Moines, Iowa. They had four children – Aimée, Tina, Amanda, and Jesseca. The couple later divorced. She was later united in marriage to Michael Leydens in June of 2005, in Des Moines, Iowa.
Kathleen was a homemaker for her family and cared for children in her in-home day care. She was baptized as a Catholic and her faith was very important to her. She enjoyed coloring, baking and cooking, watching western movies, and most of all, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Aimée (Richard) Newcomb, Tina (Tom) Smith, Amanda (Shawn) Chipp, and Jesseca Robertson; step-son, Scott Garrison; grandchildren, Patricia, Charlie, Alicia, Melonie, Tiffani, Richie, Caitlyn, Caden; step-grandchildren, Scotty, Brittany, Braden, Caleb, Dakota, and Hunter; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Linda (Joe) Goering and Dale Brewer; and many nieces, nephew, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Dorothy Brewer; husband, Michael Leydens; and five siblings.
Memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.

Kathy was a big part of my younger Days. She was like a second Mom to almost all the kids On East 15th area But I was her favorite 😍
I met Kathy when I was about 10 or 11. Baby sit her 2 older Daughters We lost touch when I got married. We seen each other Huged once in awhile I found out we're she lived And I went to see her And hung around for awhile I Introduced her to Mike Leydens. I just knew that He would grow to love her ♥. And Her Him. I might not of seen her very often But I Always and Will Have hers in my Heart. I LOVE YOU KATHY REST IN PEACE. LOVE N HUGS ❤ ( Peachy )
