Loren Wood

Hubert Loren Wood, 93, passed away on February 5, 2023 at Valley View Village in Des Moines. He was born in Ottumwa, Iowa on October 12, 1929, son of Ned and Cleo (Gross) Wood.

Loren worked for Firestone for over 25 years. He proudly served his country as an Air Force Veteran. Loren loved people and he never met a stranger. Above all else, he treasured time spent with his family.

Loren is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Virginia; son’s Rick (Michele) Wood and Rod Wood; grandchildren, Ryan Wood and Allie (Josh) Howard; great granddaughter, Joelle and other loving relatives and many special friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ned and Cleo Wood.

Services will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 10:30 a.m., at Highland Park Christian Church, 4260 NW 6th Drive, Des Moines. Burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.
