Apologies for the late post, I just became aware of Mr Kaschmitters passing. Mr Kaschmitter had retired from teaching before my time at Prairie but he was still the junior high tennis coach, and ran the summer tennis program when school was out. He was a great coach- really made things fun and taught us a ton about tennis. He definitely is a big reason for my lifelong interest and involvement in the sport even now 20-something years later.
Condolences to the family, Mr Kaschmitter was a great coach and a great guy to be around.

I was so sorry to learn of Matt's death. He and Sharon were "salt of the earth" kind of people and Dave and I enjoyed knowing them as members of our local and Iowa tandem bicycling club! I have such fond memories of great times together!

Not only was Matt a colleague at Prairie when we taught there, but he and Sharon were next door neighbors on Alma Drive in Cedar Rapids. Mark and Lisa, we are saddened by the loss of both your parents. We have so many positive memories of them when you and our kids were growing up! It is our hope that those memories will live in your hearts forever and give you peace. Our deepest sympathies.

What a loss! We got to know Matt and Sharon through pickleball here in North Liberty, IA. A great couple, good friends, and they were fun to play with. We were then saddened by Sharon's accidental death in 2014. Later we were happy for Matt when he remarried an old friend, Julie. Matt was one of a kind, a true gentleman, and friend to all. Farewell, Matt.

We were saddened to read of Matt's passing. He was a true friend and Dick taught Science with Matt for many years at Prairie. Matt helped us when we were developing our land near Swisher. We always enjoyed hearing from him after his retirement. We wish we could be with you Thursday. Our deepest sympathy.

Matt was our brother in law and one of the finest men we have known. A great father, husband, teacher, and friend to all. Always interesting to talk with and he was always interested in learning how your own lives were going. He was a true Christian and sharing man who is at peace and who will be missed by all.
