Laura Lee McCulloch, 50, passed away on January 29, 2023 in Ankeny. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa on September 10, 1972, daughter of Larry and Louann (Gibson) Hunt.
Laura enjoyed collecting postcards and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She loved playing board games and card games with her family and friends.
Laura is survived by her daughter, Crystal McCulloch; siblings, Larry (Debbie) Hunt and Larissa (BJ) Weeks; niece, Lizzie Weeks and other loving relatives and many special friends. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 10:00 a.m., at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Visitation will take place on Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Animal Rescue League in loving memory of Laura.

Just found out about Laura's passing and I have her family in my prayers I've been trying to contact her on Facebook of no avail I decided to do some research and I found her obituary rest in peace beautiful friend we got to talk via a message on Facebook for quite some time and then when you didn't respond I said it to worry about you know that I love you my friend you are a good friend even though we did not meet in person you will always kind to me and wrote uplifting messages I will have you in mky prayer everyday I know you were God now miss you my friend to the family I send my condolences this is makes me very sad last time we spoke via message her daughter Crystal was going to college I send best wishes to Crystal to smoke very much about her and she was very happy that she was going to college to the family my name is Joseph Velez please know that I have you in my prayers God bless you all God bless Laura in heaven now

Laura was my best friend. I miss her so much ! I loved her as well. She was part of my life for over 10 years. She was a great mom, and best friend. RIP Laura, I miss you and I will always carry you in my heart !

Laura was an incredibly caring and sweet woman. She will be missed dearly. I always loved talking with Laura and seeing her smile. I'll be joining in praying for you Crystal and for the rest of your family.

I am saddened to hear of Lauras passing, Laura we never met in person but we sure did use to chat on messnger on Facebook a lot for a few years and like everything lost touch off and on but i remember our convos and our talks about cubs and the Astros. I hope and pray you are in peace and my deepest condolences to her friends and family.

Deepest sympathies for the loss of Laura. She was a kind and good hearted person that left us much too soon. Prayers for Crystal and the rest of the family for this difficult and shocking loss. I'll always cherish the memories of Christmas and Thanksgiving at Grandma's house when we were growing up.
