Lois Robertson

Lois Joann Robertson, 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 27, 2023, at Regency Care Center in Norwalk while under the care of Suncrest Hospice.

Lois was born May 9, 1942, in Des Moines, Iowa to Gerald Douglas Soloman and Velma Reva (Prather) Soloman. She graduated from East High School in Des Moines in 1960. After high school, she worked as a home health aide in the Des Moines area. Lois met Lester Eugene Robertson and they were united in marriage in 2010 in Des Moines at the Fourmile Senior Center.

Lois was an avid genealogist. She enjoyed quilting, flower gardending, and was an animal lover. Lois loved being with her pets. She enjoyed family time and especially being surrounded by her grandchildren. She enjoyed being a part of Senior Dogs for Seniors.

She is survived by her children, Leann Clark (Joe), Ronald Richards, Cody Richards (Mandy), and Dave Richards (Karen); eleven grandchildren, Norman Joseph Clark III, Misty McCoy, Anthony Clark, Cody Richards, Kyle Richards, Riley Richards, Emma Richards, Hannah Tomlinson, Micah Richards, Jaiden Richards, Samuel Richards; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Soloman; and many other extended family and friends.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Robertson in 2019; parents, Gerald and Velma Soloman; and her sister, Ruth Rogers.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2023, also at Hamilton’s, and will be followed by burial at Berwick Cemetery.
