Judith "Kay" Millsap

Judith Kay Millsap, 78, passed away on January 29, 2023, at Adel Acres.

Judith was born March 2, 1944, in Newton, Iowa to Sylvester and Marvel (Meade) Cooper. She married Thomas Millsap on June 5, 1964.

The couple lived in Indianola until 1974 when they moved to Des Moines.

Judith worked as an administrative assistant for the State of Iowa for many years before she became a homemaker. She and her husband also owned and operated Sawdust, Chips & Splinters, a wooden toy business. She also enjoyed gardening, antique shopping, and collecting pie birds.

Judith was adored by all. Her door opened to anyone who might need it. She will be greatly missed. Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved granddaughter, Chelsey Myers, her husband Austin and their son Jude; sister, Judy Auten, and her husband Morris; and a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Traci; and brother, Arthur.

The family will greet friends Friday, February 17, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
