Gloria Collins

Gloria Ann Collins, 87, passed away Monday, January 23, 2023. Gloria was born May 17, 1935, in Des Moines, Iowa to Dale A. Stewart and Helen L. (Passmore) Stewart, but was raised by Helen and Joe Draughn. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Gloria is survived by her daughter, Cindy (David) Minor; grandson, Justin (Erin) Minor; great-grandchildren, Ava and Eli Minor; sisters, Sonia Fazio and Evelyn (Jim) Robinson; many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Roy “Mick” Collins; mother, Helen (Joe) Draughn; nephews, Rodney, Mike, and Frankie; and her brother-in-law, Grover.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial will take place at Masonic Cemetery at a later date.
