Dennis Edward Burdick, age 67, passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, January 19, 2023.

Dennis was born March 5, 1955, in Des Moines, Iowa to William and Gloria Burdick. He was a veteran of the United States Marines and a member of Laborers’ Local 177 in Des Moines. Dennis loved anything flashy and fast, from American sports cars to clothes and jewelry. It kept him young at heart! He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching games with his brother during their free time. Dennis never missed the opportunity to be bench side supporting his grandkids in all their sport activities. Dennis was a devoted father and grandfather. He had a huge heart and a helping nature. He was a very social person and a loyal friend – known to many as “Macho Man”.

He is survived by his children, Felicia, Celeste, Chelsea, and Dontai; grandchildren, Gabriela, Bianca, Alejandro, Bella, Monte, Memphis, and Teontai; one great-grandchild, Camila, on the way; brother, Joseph; and many extended family members and friends.

Dennis was preceded in death by parents, William and Gloria Burdick.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary, Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Road, Des Moines.
