Charles A. Quintana

Charles Americus Quintana, 76, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, January 19, 2023.

Charles was born January 10, 1947, in Denver, Colorado to Americus and Virginia (Milner) Quintana. He married Terry Hoffman on September 7, 1974, in Aurora, Colorado. Charles worked for various truck driving companies over the years and held numerous position from hanging drywall to supervisory jobs, but his favorite was being a driver and he took great pride in his trucks.

He was a people person, a great conversationalist, and was very persuasive. Charles was a softball coach for both youth and adult teams. He also had a love of football as both a player and a coach. His favorite NFL team was the Denver Broncos.

The most important aspect in his life was family. It was his first priority and his greatest love. He was a wonderful family man and grandfather, and was involved in all his grandkids’ activities. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Terry; children, Jason Quintana and Trisha (Jeremy) Birmingham; grandchildren, Taylor Davis, Abby (Paige) Cassady, Payton Quintana, Dylan Coates, Dalton Quintana, Ryan Coates, and Carlie Quintana; sisters, Anita (Fred) Allegranzi and Christine (Richard) Doerr; and other extended family and friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Americus and Virginia Quintana; brother, Anthony Quintana; daughter, Tracy Quintana; and son, Nathan Quintana.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5711 SW 9th Street, Des Moines, followed by a reception.
