Russell McKeehan, Jr.
January 13, 2023
Russell Allen McKeehan, Jr., 45, passed away January 13, 2023.
Russell was born October 18, 1977, to Russell Sr. and Marsanna McKeehan. He was born and raised in Des Moines and was a proud Southsider. Russell was a longtime Pittsburg Steelers fan and loved watching games with his family and friends. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed late night laughs with his aunt. Russell loved fishing and family cookouts. He loved being a dad and was a proud uncle – he never missed a chance to brag about his kids and his nieces and nephews. Russell was the type of guy who never met a stranger. Above all, the love and bond between him and his mother was unbreakable. One of the last things he shared with his family was, “Tell my mom I love her.”
Russell is survived by his sons, Rusty McKeehan III and Ethan Long; daughters, Jordan (Billy) Robinson, Emma McKeehan, and Sofia McKeehan; father, Russell (Tammy) McKeehan; mother, Marsanna McKeehan; step-father, Raymond Wyant; brothers, Ronny (Tara) McKeehan, R. Jay Wyant, and Cody McKeehan; sisters, Rayanna (Jerry) Wyant, Bobbi (Victor) McKeehan, Emily Wyant, and Kayla McKeehan; as well as many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Melissa McKeehan; brother, Colby Wyant; grandpa, Virgil Burks Sr.; uncle, Virgil Burks Jr. and many other loved family members.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Family will greet friends two hours prior from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
