Alice Keller-Reese

Alice Keller-Reese, 78, passed away on January 17, 2023, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. She was born in Eldon, Iowa on February 28, 1944, the daughter of Harley and Lena Essary.

Alice enjoyed football, NASCAR, gardening and flowers in her yard and on her deck. She had a good sense of humor, loved being with friends and decorating for Halloween and Christmas. Alice was a party animal and found joy in throwing parties at “Alice’s Bar”. She was special lady and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Alice is survived by her son, Mike (Tracy Steele) Edington; siblings, Betty Covert, David (Cindy) Essary, Jim (Peggy) Essary, Charles Essary, Tom (Theo) Essary, Joe (Joyce) Essary and Tena (Paul) Weiland. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Linda and Bonnie; two husbands, Richard Keller and Butch Reese.

Services will be at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., in Des Moines on Friday, January 27, 2023. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a 12 p.m. service to follow. Burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, in loving memory of Alice.
