Larry Oldes

Larry Oldes, 77, passed away on January 15, 2023 at Serenity House in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Larry was born June 6, 1945, in Des Moines to Harold and Dorothy Oldes.

Larry enjoyed taking care of his lawn, sitting outside and listening to music. In his free time Larry loved to watch his VHS tapes of drag racing and going out to eat. He loved food of any kind except for chicken, “because it was fowl” he would say. Larry was a jokester and liked to poke fun. Above all else, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his children, Michael (Trina) Oldes, Pam (Shayna) Oldes and Tim Oldes; grandchildren, Page, Bee and Presley; and brother, Bud Oldes. He was preceded in death by his parents; and ex-wife, Roxanna.

Services will be at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., in Des Moines on Tuesday, January 24, 2023. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. with visitation to begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
