Kathleen Cockerham, passed away at her home on January 10, 2023. She was 73 years old.

Kathy was a homemaker and volunteered for the VFW. She enjoyed singing karaoke, going to the casino, drawing and spending time with family.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Inez Kennedy; 3 brothers; 4 sisters; a daughter; and a grandson.

At the time of her death, she was survived by her husband, Art Cockerham of Des Moines (who died 11 days after her). She is survived by son, Kenneth (Michelle) Cockerham of Ankeny; daughter, Heather (John) Fleming of Des Moines; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters.

Visitation was held Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, in Des Moines.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Walnut Woods State Park Lodge from 12:00 to 10:00 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2023.

Art and Kathy will be interned together at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter in a private ceremony.
