Juanita Christine Burgett

Christine Burgett passed away of natural causes at her home in Des Moines, IA, on Sunday, November 15, 2009. She was 70 years of age.

Juanita Christine Burgett was born in Putnam County, MO, on November 19, 1938, the daughter of Clyde Albert and Elva Crystal (Keller) Brown, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Livonia High School and immediately moved to Des Moines, IA, where she soon went to work for the state of Iowa in the delinquent tax department. She worked in that department for over 50 years, just recently retiring. Christine was very devoted to her job and was active in her union at work. She was a private person who cared deeply for her family.

Christine is survived by a brother, Lonnie Brown and his wife Judy, of Livonia, MO, and by two sisters-in-laws, Katherine Brown of Unionville, MO, and Kay Gregory of Greentop, MO. Her surviving nieces and nephews include Marty Tade, Lori Williams, Roger Brown, Jerrad Brown, Selena Brown, and Dana Brown.

In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Dale Brown and Jerald Lynn Brown.

Christine's body was cremated and services are 12:15 P.M. Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines, IA with Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home from Unionville, MO.
