Glenda Shannon

Glenda Diane Shannon, 49, of Des Moines passed away on November 14, 2009, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 19, 2009, at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church with burial following at Avon Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5-8 P.M. Wednesday at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home.

Glenda was a 1978 graduate of Carlisle High School, graduated in 1980 from A.I.B. and on August 20, 1994, married Steven Shannon. She worked as Assistant DME at Des Moines General Hospital for many years and most recently worked at Wellmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield. She was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church where her church and church family were an extremely important part of her life.

She is survived by her husband Steven, her daughter Erica Marie, her father Glenn "Red" Crum of Carlisle, her brother Dan Crum of Carlisle and her many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother Diane Crum.

Glenda's family would like to thank Dr. Leatrice Olson and Dr. William Semon of Des Moines and Dr. Lisa Antes, Dr. Antonio Sanchez and Dr. Kurt Thomas of UIHC for their loving care and compassion they have shown Glenda and her family.
