Sue Woodford

A short time after celebrating her favorite holiday, Christmas, with the people she loved Sue Carol Woodford passed away quietly in her home on December 30th, 2022, at the age of 75.

Sue was the beloved wife to the late Steven (Woody) Woodford. The much-loved mother to John (Vickie) Woodford, Sheri (Jim Orchard) Woodford, Todd (Jessica Stout) Woodford. Sue was also a Cherished grandmother of Tony (Tamara) Ford, Dan (Ashleigh) Woodford, Rachel (Steven) Medina, Ashley (Andrew Baires) Woodford, Shawna (Eldin Subasic) Schulte, Tyler Woodford, and Haley Woodford.

Sue was also the loving and caring sister to Wendy (Thomas) Brehany, Vicki (Kenny) Randolph, Mike (Debbie) Schminkey, Rodney Schminkey, Ronnie Hester.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Steve Woodford, her sisters Janet Hester and Karen Schminkey, and her parents Cecil and Vera Schminkey.

Please join us in remembering the camping and bingo trips, the holidays and the love Sue gave to everyone. Family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 16, 2023 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 17th also at the funeral home with a short graveside service at Laurel Hill Cemetery followed by a reception.
