Service Details

Thomas Davis, Jr., 85, left us February 9, 2007. He was a resident at Fleur Heights Care Center. Thomas had been ill for over the past two years. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 11, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.
Thomas was in the CCC Camp in Centerville and Corydon before joining the U.S. Navy. He served in WWII. He was united in marriage in 1946 to Mildred Swafford. They would have celebrated their 62nd anniversary this month. Thomas was in the Sea Bees Reserve and for several years, went on training duty for two weeks a year. He enjoyed the fellowship of the Sea Bees. He was a member of the Acanthus Lodge, the VFW and a 50 year member of the American Legion. Thomas retired from maintenance at Firestone Tire & Rubber Company after 11 years of service.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Mildred, brother-in-law, Russell Swafford; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, a brother, an infant son, his mother-in-law and father-in-law and a nephew.
He will be missed by all who loved him.
