Charlotte A. Lingren

Charlotte Alberta Lingren, 91, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2022, at her home in Des Moines.
Charlotte was born March 15, 1931, in Mystic, Iowa to Charles and Alma (Woolson) Rick. She was a high school graduate where she enjoyed playing the French horn and singing in the choir. Charlotte married the love of her life, Samuel Lingren, on December 28, 1948. She worked at Banker’s Trust for over 50 years and was very active in her church. Charlotte enjoyed baking and cooking. She made the holidays very special for her family. She was known for taking the week before the holiday off and devoted herself to baking and candy making. She was also an avid reader.
She is survived by her children, Kathy DeFino (Michael), David Lingren, Julie DeFino (Chuck), and Steve Lingren; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Lillian Reed, Bill Fry (Yvonne), and Portia Andre (Bruce); and many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Lingren; son, Gary Lingren; siblings, Clara Mae Terry, John Rick, and Wanda Boston; and her great-grandson, Josiah Lingren.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial will immediately follow at Iowa Veterans Cemetery.

Dear Kathy, Dave, Julie and Steve
Our hearts go out to you during this time of the loss of your mom.
She truly did put great effort into making Christmas time special for the family, especially the grandkids, on Christmas Eve for many years.
We have such good memories of her doing this.
