Edward W. Wardwell

Edward William Wardwell, 85, passed away on December 15, 2022. He was born in Des Moines on September 2, 1937, to Stuart and Fannie Wardwell.
In his earlier years, Edward worked as a mechanic at Bob Brown Chevrolet and most recently owned and operated Ed’s Transmission at 3rd and Broadway in Des Moines. Edward enjoyed working with his hands on machinery, trailers and tractors. He was a member of Lutheran Church of Hope-Ankeny.
Edward is survived by his children, Ellen (Ron) Metro, Mary (Scott) McLean and Tina (John) Davis; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one sister. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sandra; and one brother.
Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines, with a graveside service to follow at 2 p.m., at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

I want to thank you for making so many memories with me during my childhood. You were truly the best grandpa a person could have. Im so blessed Jax got to meet you and you got to love him. Grandma Sandy is lucky to have you back in her arms. I will forever carry your memory and love you till I meet you again. I love you grandpa 🤍
