Bernard "Jim" Krusel

Bernard “Jim” Krusel, 87, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2022.

Jim was born May 1, 1935, in Erhards Grove Township, Minnesota to Anthony and Veronica (Scully) Krusel.

In his early years, Jim enjoyed fishing, boating, and camping. Jim and Linda were married in 1967. He embraced the roll of step-father and father. He worked hard and dedicated himself to raising his family. When his kids were young, they all enjoyed motorcycles, snowmobiles, and go carts. Jim enjoyed making many memories with his family. He was an upstanding man and a proud family man. Throughout his life, Jim always loved anything mechanical. He had a passion for racing and car shows.

Jim was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He worked as an HVAC installer most of his life, and was a long-time employee of Bell Brothers. He was always willing to help on other people’s projects or lend a helping hand however he could.

He is survived by his sons, Marty Reaves and Jimmy Krusel; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Benedict “Dick” Krusel; and a host of nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Veronica Krusel; wife, Linda Krusel; sons, Tommy Reaves and Tony Reaves; and his siblings, Ann Henrichs, Josie Bird, Mary Spangler, Rosalie Campbell, Benjamin Krusel, and Anthony “Tom” Krusel.

Memorial service will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2022 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
