Danial J. Wolfe
December 12, 2022
Danial Joseph Wolfe, age 64, passed away Monday, December 12, 2022.
Dan was born August 14, 1958, in Des Moines, Iowa. He had a passion for motorcycles and loved being a part of rides to help with A.B.A.T.E. of Iowa (A Brotherhood Aimed Towards Education). Dan was an animal lover, and always had an extra plate of food for the kittens in the neighborhood. He loved watching westerns, and his Hallmark movies – but even more, he loved to read them! Dan collected many novels including romances, westerns, and others. His tough exterior hid his generous heart. He would do anything for anyone, from donating his time to multiple charities, to just lending a helping hand to someone in need. Dan loved his family and especially spending time with his grandchildren. There were many memories made around the bon fire, and there was usually a good story being shared.
He is survived by his children, Debbie (Joe) Avery, Joe (Crystal) Wolfe, Lucas (Shelby) Blanchard, Jennifer Clayburg, and Jessica (John) Taylor; grandchildren, Londyn, Brayden, Kaylee, Dominic, Kamera, Taila, Jacob, Kenzleijh, Karsyn, Robert, JoyMarie, and James; sister, Rose Lampman; aunts, Sally Jenkins, Joyce Lauer, and Ellen Hall; as well as many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Wolfe; his mother, Nancy (Pinckney) Sink; his stepfather who raised him, Rober Edwin Sink; brothers, Frank and James “Eddie” Brown; and grandparents, Elizabeth and Frank Pinckney.
There will be a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, followed by burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Dan.

"Uncle Dan" was one of my favorite people I've ever met. He introduced me to what would soon become one of my very best friends for over 16 years now, his daughter in law, Crystal. I can think of many great memories with Dan, whether it be Super Bowl parties, summer cookouts, having fun at the bowling alley, admiring his motorcycle and many more. To the family, we are so very sorry you have lost such an amazing man. He put up such a hard fight and he had so much love and support around him. He will be truly missed, but never forgotten. We love you, Uncle Dan.
