Mark Miller

Mark Edward Miller, age 57, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, of natural causes.
Mark was born on December 20th, 1964, to John and Kay Miller in Des Moines, Iowa. He grew up in Mitchellville, IA and graduated from Saydel High School in 1983. Following high school, Mark joined the Plumbers and Steamfitters union. He was a journeyman for almost 30 years prior to retiring in January of 2020.
Mark was very passionate about classic cars and could often be found in the garage listening to classic rock and tinkering with one of his many project cars. One of his favorites being his 1969 Pontiac Firebird. Mark enjoyed the outdoors and being with his family. Together, they spent many summers camping wearing their matching “happy camper” hats. Mark loved the holidays especially getting together for fireworks on the 4th of July and cookie decorating with his grandchildren every Christmas Eve.
Mark was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was known as a fun loving, lighthearted man with a heart of gold.
Mark is survived by his children, Eddie (Cindy) Miller, and Kendra (Bradley) Evans; his mother, Kay Miller; his sister, Linda (Tim) Jennings; his brother Patrick (Peggy) Miller; and his grandchildren, Madison Evans, Aubree Evans, and Jensen Miller. He is preceded in death by his father, John Edward Miller.
A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, December 18, 2022, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St, Des Moines, Iowa 50309. Mark will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens in the Spring of 2023.

My condolences and prayers for Mark's family. I had not seen him in many years but we were pretty good buddies in high school. Lots of great memories. Rest in Peace old friend, see.you on the other side.

Friendship transcends death. Memories made will never be forgotten and created a lasting impression on those they left behind. Everyone became a better person for having such a wonderful friend.

Very sad to hear about Mark's passing. Seems like time catches everyone, but it's worse when someone like Mark dies. Him and my husband Clarence would bowl together on teams .
