Kenneth Sprague, 74, passed away on December 5, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born in Des Moines on February 2, 1948.

Kenny graduated from Saydel High School in class of 1968. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was the recipient of a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. On October 16, 1970 he married the love of his life Janet and they shared 52 years together.

Kenny worked as a laborer in manufacturing and welding. He spent 22 years at Dee Zee Manufacturing and 16 years at AMF Lawn and Garden. He loved hunting and camping with his family and enjoyed Sunday night bowling. Kenny was a 50 year member of Amvets Post #2.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Janet; children, Kenny, Jr. and Kelly (Tana) Sprague, and Terry (Brandy) Milbourn; 9 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Kimberly Sprague; and grandson, Kirby Purdy.

Services will be at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., in Des Moines. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 with a 10 a.m. service on Wednesday, December 14, 2022.
